A safe space to read, write or create.

A Delhi book club for people who love stories, making things, and each other's company.

About us

Books, crafts and kindness.

Hands & Heart is a book club based in Delhi. We meet to talk about the stories we love, swap books, make things together and simply spend an afternoon with people who care about the same small joys.

You don't need to be a fast reader or a "creative type". Come as you are, bring your current read, and leave with a few new book ideas and maybe a few new friends.

Hands

Because we love to create: to write, make, craft and play.

Heart

Because we lead with kindness: in every conversation and every meet.

What we do

Come for the books, stay for the people

Good to know

Questions, answered

The things people usually ask before their first meet.

What is Hands & Heart?
Hands & Heart is a book club and creative community based in Delhi. We meet to talk about books, swap them, hear from authors and make things together. The name says it: Hands, because we love to create, and Heart, because we lead with kindness.
Who can join?
Anyone who likes books, or likes the idea of liking books. You don't need to be a fast reader, finish everything you start, or call yourself creative. Come as you are and bring your current read.
Where do you meet?
Most of our events are hosted with Kunzum Books at M Block Market, GK-2, New Delhi, and we also meet at cafés and venues across the city. The venue for each meet is shared with its announcement on Instagram.
How often do you meet?
We gather regularly through the year, with extra events around festivals and author visits. Follow @hands_n_heart to see what's coming up next.
How do I register for an event?
Every meet is announced on Instagram at @hands_n_heart, along with the date, venue, entry details and a registration link. Check the page for the latest event.
Do I need to read a particular book before coming?
No. Our meets are about sharing what you're reading rather than everyone working through the same book. If an event needs any preparation, we'll say so in the announcement.
Can I come on my own?
Yes, and most people do. That's rather the point: you arrive alone and leave with a few names to message about books.
What happens at a meet?
It depends on the event: author talks with Q&As and signed copies, book swaps, themed festive socials with games and treats, making sessions, and relaxed get-togethers over coffee.

The founder

Dr. Shubi Virmani

Founder, Hands & Heart

Dr. Shubi Virmani is a doctor at AIIMS and a Delhi-based digital creator. Away from the hospital, she writes about books, travel and the small rituals of everyday life, usually over coffee.

She started Hands & Heart to bring readers together, through book recommendations, bookish events and Delhi meetups, in a space that's warm, creative and kind. When she isn't reading or hosting, she's most likely crocheting.
